Engineers reduce foreign dependency in industrial facilities

Mar 15, 2021
London, March 15 (HNA) – With a team of engineers in design, management and operation units, Birikim Engineering contributes to the reduction of foreign dependency in the sector by establishing and operating industrial facilities that form the backbone of the main branches of industry such as cement, glass, structural steel, energy, machinery manufacturing, mining and bulk transportation.

“Our main business subject is turn-key delivery of granulated bulk material handling facilities, mainly conveyors and storage facilities,” said Atilla Atasoy, Co-founder and the Company Manager, “For over 12 years, working under the control of inspectors of various European and American customers, Metso Minerals being prime customer, our fabrication skills and quality reached to an internationally compatible level.”

“Besides crushing screening and flotation plant projects in mines, knowledge and references gathered in the company about overland conveyors and mobile conveying & stacking equipment caused decrease in dependency to the foreign suppliers and created a seriously dependable source in Turkey,” Atasoy said and added:

“This success that we have achieved in the sector and which we carry forward day by day is our engineer friends and all our staff with education and experience in different disciplines. A total of 327 people, 28 of whom are engineers, are working in our enterprise. The basis of our production, which we can call ’boutique’ in a sense, specific to each business. For this reason, I think we have created a very efficient alternative to the foreign-dependent production system of many enterprises with the harmonious and design-oriented work of our engineer colleagues and all our staff. ”

In addition to the works in the mining industry, Birikim completed various turn-key projects in the glass and ceramic industries, too. Customer and project-oriented quality plans and well-defined manufacturing processes lead us to be awarded the ISO9001 Quality Assurance Certificate by the end of the year 2009. We have been awarded EN 3834-2 for welding works and EN 1090 for steel structure design and fabrication. We can also certify bulk handling equipment with CE marking.

CE marking is an administrative marking that indicates conformity with health, safety, and environmental protection standards for products sold within the European Economic Area (EEA).

“Our aim is to keep going in our activities qualitatively and quantitatively in a developing progress, and to increase the number of our associates who trust us all around the world and in more industrial sectors,” Atasoy said and went on as follows:

“Our expert structural, mechanical and electrical design team integrated with each other; provides services in the following subjects by making design studies in 3D and real-time, Building Information Modeling (BIM) and using structural analysis programs accepted worldwide:

– Preparing preliminary project and cost calculations,
– finding an economical, safe and feasible solution,
– designing in accordance with the earthquake regulations, updated and internationally accepted specifications such as – TS500, UBC97, IBC, ASCE, ACI, EUROCODE and as per the location, resources, social and political elements of the project planned to be realized,
